New to mudmotortalk. would love some help choosing.
Looking at getting a 1756 G3 Jon boat and was wondering what would be a good motor to strap on. Not real familiar with go devils and such so I thought it would be good to ask around.
Thanks!

He is referring to the kevlar weave coated model, much lighter and stronger than your typical MM

Re: New to mudmotortalk. would love some help choosing.
First- if you want a mud motor, get a boat made for one. It will perform much better. Note that 18' is the sweet spot for load carrying and performance.
Second- List what you want to do with it 90% of the time, where do you run, what is the load you are planning to carry, what are you planning to do with it (hunt out of it, fish, .....). There is no perfect combo so you deal with the other 10%
Third- Go out and test drive as many models as you can on the type of boat as close to what you plan to mount it on. This will give you a feel for how they drive, features, fit and finish, etc....
