 Problem Getting on plain
I have a 1760 lowe with a 32 prodive on it. I have the hardest time in the world getting it to plain out. I heard putting pods on the back would help alot. Any idea on this thanks alot..

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
Load? Trim setting? Transom heights? Bottom of boat beat up? Prop wear?

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
Tell the big guys to get their own boat. I don't know much about that particulr boat, but a 60" wide boat shouldn't have problem getting up if everything else is correct as the other guys have stated

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
I believe the angle is fine it has been the same set up all bought new.. Prop is in good shape and bottom of boat is in good shape. I usually notice it with a load like 3 guys and decoys and gear. A guy has the same setup but has pods on the back and he seems to fly around no problem. I can get it to plane out i just have to get it just right and crank it at exactly the right time...

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
If it didnt do it before and is now doing it, then something has changed in the motor or in the boat. how many rpm's are you pushing? even a 1/4" wear on the prop can have an effect. Is the load balanced? any hooks near the transom?

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
I just bought the boat from a guy that had it new. He never put much in the boat when he had it. I have had the valves checked.

 Problem Getting on plain
What's the transom angle on a lowe boat? What does it need to be for PD's?
If those two numbers match you should be good and start diagnosing other issues.

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
trim will get you within the right transom angle... My boat has a 15* angle IIRC, GT has 20*. I have no issues with mine. A 1760 with a 35 should step a 3 man load, plain and simple.

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
if you are running over 4000 rpm's WOT it sounds like a worn prop or trimmed too deep issue. If the motor is too weak to push the boat it dam sho ain't gonna be running 4000 rpm's in the water, you would prob. be looking at 31-3300 for an underpowered motor.

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
Motor can still turn up with leaky valves, but will not have the power to do anything. I agree with Marcus. If you've checked the lash and it is all good, have a leak down test done.

 Re: Problem Getting on plain
You said 4100 RPM. Thats neutral RPMs right? Set them to 4250 and roll out. If you have a valve lash, or leaky valve the motor without any load on it will NOT have a problem bumping the governor. When you put load on the prop then thats where it will show.. My motor with a rounded Exhaust cam lobe would bumpe 4250 in neutral but couldnt get above 3000 in the water..... See what I am saying.

Hey guys, what is a leakdown test? Thanks in advance for answering a question that has probably already been answered 1000X on this board.
