Well, my new coils came in this week. Working on the install now. Got everything off of the motor, and waiting for a buddy to bring me some feeler gauges. Mine have turned into a ball of rust. The new coils are labeled Right and Left. Is this right and left as you are looking at the motor or as the motor sits facing into the boat?

I'm sure its a stupid question, but there is no clear answer that I could find.

Has anyone that has installed them found that the wire to the plug is too short? I don't think I'm going to be able to make the one on the left side (opposite side from tiller arm) reach the plug unless I bend the wire into a 90

I just put mine on a few days ago nd they worked fine. The plug wires face out, the kill wire has to be re routed to reach the new coil. And x2 on the business card for gap. So just put em to where the wires face out and you should be fine.

Thanks Rod. I ended up putting my stock ones back on. I'm gonna look into that tomorrow.

I'm just posting this on here to let anyone else who might run into this issue. The sticker and the stamping / engraving on the coil were opposite. The sticker said "this side out". Under the sticker, the coil was stamped "this side in". I never thought to peel off the sticker and check the coil. Hope this helps someone.

Very good money spent. Almost like adding a gear to my motor.

All over limiter before. This past weekend ran 33.5 with 12 gal gas, me and my wife, deep water.

ok thats what I thought. These coils wont help guy's that dont have the added power to get the rpm's up over 4300. Just put mine on and waiting to put the cam in! Cant wait to see what it will do

Yeah they won't make a difference if you couldn't hit limiter before.
