Team Camon was so generous to help me install my rev limiter at the SETX 2012 landing but he didn't get it right. My engine is non cdi. Where do you connect the three rev limiter wires? |

Positive negative and the kill wire, usually green if I recall correctly |

For a MB you hook the red wire to the relay that is hot when the key is on not sure which wire that is on your motor but if you have a meter u can find it. The black goes to ground usually one of the small bolts on the starter and the green should tie into your kill wire which is also normally green |

Check the back of the key switch to find the wire then trace it to the pigtail and tie in there |

That's how I hooked it up. Red to the accessory wire from the switch (only hot while key is "on" black wire to ground, green wire to the diode stud on #1 cylinder. Everything was hooked up correctly, but I could still run it up to 4470-4500 rpm without it cutting out. ***note*** this is the newer style box & rated for 4400 (I believe) to 4600. |

Hard to say without putting another tach on there to check. That exhaust screams right in ya face, so I had a hard time going by sound  See if someone will let ya borrow a good tach & just wrap it on the other plug wire to check em against each other.

That rev limiter "kick in" at 4570. |

Well there ya go, I was scared to take it up that high. If I blow my stuff up, oh well---but I aint about to push somebody else's that hard, especially a lawyer's.

just put a mikuni on my 23hp gdsd today. rev limiter kicks in right at 4500 rpms just like boatdr said. At least i know now the tiny tach is reading pretty accurate |
