On the new marine 35 hp B&S engine did the factory remove two springs from the throttle mechanism? The springs I am referring to are the little spring that hooks up to the governed idle tab and the long spring which hooks up to the right of it, from the governed idle tab to the sliding hook on the throttle.

The marine type 194 has a different governor spring but all the other springs are the same.

Maybe that is what is wrong with DmaxHunter's throttle problem. I just got my GTR today and it is 2 springs short and the throatily acts like he described.

That governor/throttle mechanism in a stock Briggs is the devil. It was designed by a tortured soul. Get a Mikuni and you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. No springs. Electronic governor/rev limiter.
