I winterized my motor at the end of duck season (added sea foam and marine stabil to fuel and ran for a while, then ran it out of gas, changed the oil and filter, put 1 tbsp of oil in each cylinder and turned it over by hand a couple of times and periodically as it sat, and changed the plugs). It has sat since around mid January. Other than filling up with fresh fuel and starting it up is there any thing else to do to it? The weather is warming early this year and the ramps just opened back up so I'm gonna start scouting the river and have some fun. |

Mine has been sitting since Dec 4th. Put fresh gas in and go. You do way more than I do, I just put a bunch of stabil in and ran it for a while. I won't get to run mine for another month or so, I gotta change the oil and filter before I take it out in the spring. |

Thanks! It may be overkill but it was my first winter with the motor and just wanted to be careful, plus the oil and plugs needed to be changed anyway. |

Maybe charge the battery, if necessary. Other than that you've definitely got it covered. |

DOnt change the oil until you run the motor and get it to operating temp. Once at full temp drain the oil hot so the contaminants are in suspension and will drain out with ease. Pur new Crankcase fill and rock on until next season! |

If you changed the oil when putting it up, I wouldn't be in a rush to change it again. |
