Hey Guys so i thought i had some trash in my carb so i pulled it out cleaned the carb and put back on. everything was running well for about ten min i looked back and the muffler had a blue flame and the stock exhaust was cherry red i shut it down instantly....i started this because when i put the prop in the water it would die when i gave it throttle ...it got a load on it..i checked spark the old way and i tell u what it works lol has anyone ran into an issue like this also it is now dieing again with the same problem as before. i put new plugs on it last week and gap is 40 is this correct new oil and filter...when the motor is running the oil filter and cooler are hot hot hot is this normal along with the valve covers....sorry for so many questions but this is my first mb and longtail i bought it used has ran very well and is strong until now...im thinking of putting new coils and a carb and exhaust upgrade just a big tune up ya know...so i can have some trust in it i have not got it yet its a mb 23 lt with a 9x5 all stock |

The glowing red is normal. The blue flame is a tell tale sign he's running lean. Sent by carrier pigeon. |

Add 3 cups of sugar to your gas tank. It won't glow any more and there won't be any flame. |
