While I have this beauty apart, I was gonna cut the Governor Tab off. I've seen it done in the other Cam Install posts, but what do you use to cut it? A Dremel type tool?

What do you wash the inside of the motor down with to make sure all the shavings would be out of the block.

just leave it in there and lock it in place so it doesn't move.

First of all, I dont think anyone would cut it while it is installed in the block (because of the shavings). And second, if you are going to take it out, I would suggest to simply remove it and put a bolt in its place.

Ok. Looking at this photo, I assumed the Governor was cut where it sits, since it wasn't removed altogether.

There is just a snap ring that holds it in place. So if you remove the BeePeeSss governor lock in your first pic, and remove the snap ring below it, is simply slides right out..........then you can cut it, grind it, you can even eat it if you want, then re-install it.

If you want to remove it completly, I'll give you a list of what needs to be done and parts needed to do so.

Another question.

Shouldn't I crank the motor before putting the lower unit back on to make sure everything is sealed and running right?
