I am in the final stages of a 16hp duromax clone/surface drive build and the engine has a .280 cam, 55lb springs, no governor, aftermarket header and muffler and 34mm Mikuni VM carb. The carb came with a 260 main jet, 35 pilot jet, Q2 needle jet, 6DH4 jet needle, 2.5 throttle valve, 2.0 air jet and a 3.3 needle valve. I have been reading up on how to tune this thing but I don't want to buy 50 different jets before I find the right one. I have had it cranked and its really rich but I'm not far enough along to put it in the water yet. Does anyone have any idea of a setup, jet wise, that will get me somewhat close and I can tune it from there, once I get it complete. |
