I have a 2003 rmk 800 snowmobile that i was about to trade in, but for the $1500 the dealer offered i kept it. Now i want to take the clutch and engine out of the sled and mount it to a custom built long tail. i know there would be some major details to work out like cooling either a radiator or heat exchanger. Also im not sure what pitch prop or how much id have to beef up the transome on the little boat, but how do you guys think something like that would handle on a 14' aluminum boat?

This engine produces around 135 horsepower by the way.

Can you take the clutch off and make a direct drive with a u joint?

It would be a hell of alot simpler

But the clutch would make the gearing a lot easier, The CV would let the motor do its own thing and keep the prop spinning
