 Kohler 29hp EFI
For those interested, the EFI Kohler passed another of my reliability requirements. I left it parked outside all winter with only a waterproof cover over it. Temperatures got as low as -60F and January stayed colder than -30F most of the month. Those extremes can be tough on electronic circuits. Yesterday, with temperatures in the low +30s, I connected a battery and fuel can and cranked it up. The starter turned two revolutions before the engine started. I didn't touch the throttle and, of course, there is no choke. It sat and idled smoothly at 950 rpm as if it had been warmed up, but it hasn't run since last October. I'm pleased. As soon as I can find some open water I'll take it out to play.
