I bought a '09 motor with 110 hours on it. The motor idles high and is slow out of the hole. Once it gets on plane it runs about as well as the rest. The previous owner said he tried to adjust the idle on the carb but it took away top end speed. The guys at Mudbuddy said it could be the throttle srping itself. Anybody else have any ideas on the issue? |

A worn prop can also give it the slow holeshot but will still run top End about the same. Once you get your Rpms in range it should be easy to tell |

I will check the rpm's tonight. I know at WOT in the water it was 3580 Wednesday. The prop is a new tiger big blade. |

That's low. I am not postive on what a mb should be but it is definatly higher than that. Also 15 minutes in sand can destroy a prop |

Yeah I thought it seemed low, but I've just had it on the boat for a couple weeks. Maybe the throttle cable isn't allowing the carb to open all the way? Yeah, I know the sand can wreck one but its a rock bottom lake I have ran it in so I would definitely feel if I hit the bottom. |
