Come across this gadget the other day, it's a emergency repair kit for broken Harley drive belts. Might be a handy thing to have in the toolbox! Only works on a clean break across the teeth though. http://www.drivebelt911.com/ |

That's very interesting, how often do the belts break so clean though? |

Not very, but for the price it would be worth having just in case. |

Never used it, but looks like handy stuff. Can do what duct tape does, but seems like it could be used for a lot of other things duct tape couldn't: Rescue Tape . . . • Is Self-Fusing! • Incredible 950 PSI Tensile Strength! • Insulates 8,000 Volts per layer! • Withstands 500° F Degrees of heat! • Remains flexible to -85° F! (-60° C) • Fastest-fusing and Strongest Silicone Tape available on the market! Rescue Tape . . . • Creates a Permanent Air-Tight, Water-Tight Seal in seconds! • Has an unbelievably long shelf life! • Is extremely versatile! • Resists Fuels, Oils, Acids, Solvents, Salt Water, Road Salt, UV Rays • Never gets gummy or sticky like electrical tape, duct tape or other repair tape- No messy cleanup! http://www.rescuetape.com/ |

Hehe. Just noticed that in the "video testimonial" on the bottom right, the guy talks about using it to temporarily repair a fan belt on his boat. (yea, a fan belt ain't the same thing as a drive belt, but any way) |

Are belt breaks not common enough to just keep a spare in the boat? |
