Post noisy valve train?
Got about 5 hours on a 2012 35 briggs CDI. Checked the valves today they were extremely tight, at 1/4" past tdc could not fit a .001 in there. Adjusted to .005, it took quite a few turns out on both sides. Now I am noticing a "valve tap" that was not there before, really noticable at idle...kinda disappears at over 1200 rpm.

What do y'all think...normal? Thanks

Did you check it on the compression stroke?

It is normal to hear the valves. Keep them set within the tolereances and just drive.

You may want to recheck them- you should hear them but they shouldn't be 'noisy'.
