Don't they make a wedge or block thing that prevents the motor from trimming too far down while in reverse? I've seen a few rigs with them.

are they matching transom hieghts?

You dont have a short trans motor on a TT boat do you?

The cav plate hits the boat, its not a short transom motor on a tall transom boat kind of thing.

WEA- There is no such block to my knowledge, there is a block on winch trims to keep the motor from popping up, and on the hydr trim there is a lever that locks the trim in so the motor wont kick up.

Guys if you dont know shit about PDs, then dont try to answer questions that people have about them.

To the OP, you've just got to learn to not trim the motor too far down when in reverse. Part of the design is to be able to create lift at the transom with the motor, so keep it trimmed up pretty good when in reverse. If you have it trimmed down too far, and have to the motor turned just the right way, you can hit your boat with the prop.

Trim it down as far as u can and still b able to turn ur motor. If u go to far the cav plate will touch the transom and u won't b able to work the motor back and forth. Mine has an 1/8 inch plate welded to the transom in case it hits. If it does I just trim up till I can turn the motor again.

Trim it down just before it hits the boat. Then take a center punch and mark the transom bracket and motor bracket with the punch so you have something to look at every time you put it in reverse and never trim down below the marks.
