I am purchasing a new 23hp vanguard for a surface drive project. I tried to use a 16hp clone didn't like the look or the performance on my boat. I have a new 34mm round slide mikuni that I would like to put on the 23 but don't know what I need. Does it require a special manifold or anything? I already have a BPS throttle setup. Can anyone give me an idea as to which jets I need for a reliable setup? Will I see any performance gains from the mikuni or will it just give me better tune ability. Does the engine have a mechanical rev limiter or is it digital and if so would you recommend removing it or raising it? thanks |

yes you would have to fab up a intake adapter. is your bps cable for a round slide carb or a flat slide there is a difference. jetting would be a quessing game. the round slide carb has no where the adjustabilty as a flat slide. also you would have to go to a rev limiter and a gov. block off or a removal of the gov shaft. but it could be done. |

My BPS throttle cable is for my round slide. I have had it running on my previous engine. Does anyone have a picture of the intake adapter? Also where can I get a rev limiter? |
