I did some welding work on hoyts boat so I got him to rebuild my motor and I just told him to put a cam.

I'm runnin the 35 Gtr with Mikuni and IM/setx heads. What would be a better upgrade..... A Q exhaust and cam or the longer drive shaft?? |

What kind of overall gain will the hoyt cam give me. A noticeable top end and load carrying? And do you ever lose any power somewhere ex. Give up some bottom end and gain some top end? |

do you have IM or SETX heads? cody doesnt touch the IM heads, the setx heads include intake work and if you have those probably a different cam would be recommended. |

Deff a cam, you'll be very satisfied. I can squeeze 5 people, 8 gallons of gas, icechest, and the battery in my 15' and still run 26. |

Didnt loose ANY top end, just gained alot more tourque and didnt loose that much speed under a load. |

craig, why you say "no way" and from what im gathering the longer drive shaft is either not that much of an improvement or the cam and exhaust is just that good?? any one else have a cam on the market beside hoyt and bps? |

The longer lower unit does perform better than the stock ones, what it comes down to is are you willing to spend the money lol cause I know their not cheap.

Cody had to do a valve job on my IM heads, and he cleaned up the ports. Maybe he is referring to something of that nature. |

Yes that is exactly what happened. Bought IM heads and after 240 hours i sent them to Cody. Extremely happy with them when I got them back. I know there isn't a speed gain on longer drive shaft but was it a significant enough improvement for the money? |
