Post 23 Vanguard Kill Switch
I just purchased a brand new 23vanguard and I need to know which wire to connect my kill switch to. I know how to wire the rest of the switch, just need to know which wire to hook it to. I don't want to fry this engine.. Below is a pic of the side of the engine. If you can't tell me which wire, is there a way to figure it out with a meter?

p.s. I used the search feature first and didn't find what I was looking for, so don't be a dick.

Thanks

Behind the fuel filter there is a stud that the black wire hooks to. Put a ring terminal on the wire from the kill switch and attach it to that stud.

The bolt below the filter (that the brown wire in the pic is hooked to) is a ground.

The stud above that (it is behind the filter in that pic) is where the wire from the coils is attached to.

BoatDR thank you for the explanation....I am new to these engines and don't want to mess anything up.

Just so i'm clear, I have one wire attached to the stud that the brown wire is attached to.(It has a yellow boot around the crimp fitting.) It runs to my switch and from my switch, I connect the other wire (its hanging there in the picture) to the stud behind the filter.

I had the kill switch hooked up and working on my other motor (16hp clone) so when I change motors, I left everything in place. I have 4 terminals on the back of the switch.....do I need to change them with this new engine?
