Got a buddy who bought an excel about a year ago with a 40 Kohler MB with Twin Exhaust. Well the transom and motor mount brace kept cracking on the boat then he blew up the motor. Motor was rebuilt and is hanging in his garage so Im wondering if I can talk him out of the twins.

Would they fit my Briggs/Vanguard 35 ?

If so, does anyone know the composition of the Stainless used? 304, 316, or something with just enough chromium to be called stainless?

If i can get em I want to try adding a crossover, either H or X pipe (Im leaning X for its scavenging effects) Does anyone have any experience doing so? Should i look at rejetting the stock carb to prevent running lean as you would on an atv?

Trying to get all my ducks in a row before i start unbolting and welding chit together
Thanks!

Duals I had on 40 K prototype were the straight sections off the BPS duals w/o the angled manifold adapters that go on a 35.
