 Gtr23 Posting for a friend my buddy recently purchased a gtr 23 on a gator
Tail 16x46 hull light load he is turning 3560 with
Only two people he is turning 3300 max trimmed all the way up
And getting high of 21 mph average 19-20 with two
People does this sound about right or does he need to jack up
Rpms also not sure what kind of rooster tail he should be throwing
At the right trim height as I'm more familiar with mud buddy
Any info would help

Re: Gtr23 Sounds about right.
Heads, cam and carb will get you to 30 mph and 4200 rpms for about +-$2500. DIY about +-$1800. Add $500 for BPS crossover muffler.

Re: Gtr23 Sounds close on speed, rpms sound low though. My 23 runs about 3600 in the water with a load.

Re: Gtr23 In shallow water like a foot I can hit 24 MPH @ 3500 RPM in deeper water it's more like 22. With two people around 20MPH @ 3100 RPM. Bought both motor and boat new and think this all you could expect out of a stock 23. How does hull look on boat any hooks or big dings near transom?
