anyone out there with a gdsd that has upgraded their throttle handle? the bps metal one , they tell me you have to grind the handle down to fit a gd . i recently upgraded to a single mikuni and would like a better controll. on long runs that little plastic one just isnt cutting it or if i have to get a bps one if anyone can tell me the process of retro fitting it myself. Thank you for any help or advice you can give .

oh and and on a side note ..... wow what a difference the single mikuni made , really woke up the motor !!!!

Yes the godevil handle is slightly larger OD than a MB, so yes you will either have to grind the handle down, grind/enlarge the hole on the lever where it slides over the handle (but that SS is damn hard, and you'll be cursing alot), or cut about 6" off your handle and have a machine shop make an insert to slide into your handle that would be the proper OD.

that sounds like a pretty good route to take , so let me get this straight , cut about 6 inches off and have a piece of rod welded in place that is the diameter of the bps throttle ? and you wouldn't happen to know what the gdsd shaft diameter is compared to the bps handle is would you?

Cody from SETX installed mine. Give him a call and ask how he did it. Or better yet PM 50hptiller on here. Mine hasn't slipped or had any problems. And yes, its a much better lever than the plastic one IMO.

When I hadmy GDSD and put the BPS throttle lever on it, I had a machine shop machine it to fit. That was some DAMN HARD stainless.
