 BPS Muffler bracing
Has anyone came up with a bracing system on the BPS muffler on a PD. I have some ideas, of bracing from the baffle chamber to some where on the engine. Was wondering if any of yall have came up with anything.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
The only system I know of is to not get the crossover for a PD. I cracked one at 20 hours, the next one 8 hours later. They are sending me the Q muffler now due to it's better durability. I have an evt exhaust now to put on it, so I think I'll be good. As a side note, Micah at Mudbuddy will have sent me 3 exhausts by the time the Q muffler hits my door wif no problems. BPS has got to be in the hole on this deal.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
There is a reason they're about to stop selling them for the PD's...
On a side note, they're all gonna break...every last one of them...Just buy the one you like and be prepared to weld.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
I cracked mine after a few hours. I rewelded it with a nice wide weld and haven't had a problem in over 150 hours.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
Mine both broke in the same place. Cracked the pipe open right across one of the braces. Pain in the butt to fix. Actually haven't bolted the one we fixed up to an engine to see if we got the flange aligned right to the head.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
This muffler was on my buddies rig, he got it replace and I was able get the broken one. I had it welded an now I'm going to try to brace it like we did on our race motors. I got a brace made last night, just need to get the other side finished and test is out this weekend. I will post some pics as soon as I get it finished. Hopefully this with help them not to break. We will see.
This is the proto type on one side.

 Re: BPS Muffler bracing
I forgot I posted this last June. I've been running this brace for a year and the muffler has not cracked again.
