prop is coming out of water
Help with a little 7hp predator, just picked up a brand new motor from harbor frieght. Love the motor so far, but I can only run it 3/4 WOT. when I go the rest the prop wants to come out of the water. What can I do to help this? bend the cav plate down or up? Also I'm thinking of going bigger prop, Anyone have any good experience with this kind of motor? Running a 14ft marsh boat, currently getting 10-12 fully loaded with gear. Also, probably dumb question... I got 2 VERY used props, can I send them somewhere to get them "re-cupped" for a lack of better words? Any suggestions? Thanks fella's!

Re: prop is coming out of water
Not really familiar with that small of one but i had a 27 beavertail that did the same thing... I bent the last inch of the plate above the prop up at about a 45degree angle and it was find.... I would bend it a lil at a time and see when it seems to work for you best.....Goodluck

Re: prop is coming out of water
If the above doesn't help take a large crescent wrench and bend the cavitation plate just behind where it's welded to the shaft log on each side. Bend it down a little at a time. We had to do this to 2 Lts with the same issue.
