Tighten the tension knob on the lower unit.

it holds the LU enabling you to ratchet easier

You have to have tension for it to work, imagine trying to a ratchet on a bolt that isn't stuck or doesn't have any tension on it, it won't work.

well went out and got tension knob tight and still didnt work properly, does that pin just pull down and lock in place real easy? i pulled on it about 5 times and it finally locked down in place but try to ratchet it and LU didnt move and pin went back up

Really...I'm not trying to be smart-a$$....but, have you looked at the video on the website to see how they are doing it on there? Just asking.

It may have been a while since it was greased. Try pulling pin down and forcing the LU with your foot

Maybe it didn't come with the reverse feature?

Post subject:  Re: FPR on 36pd

well im wondering if the new LU he just put on it is a FPR is that possible? it seems like the pin just does not have a hole to go in when you pull it down,i serviced everything on it soon as i got it,i greased everything like the manual says on there web site. the old LU said FPR and the new one did not but i know thats just a sticker. i think they changed the coupler also.

The lu doesn't really have anything to do with it. If it has the pin, it has reverse. The whole plate is different so the wouldn't put that pin on there if there wasn't reverse.

Glad you got it figured out, we had the same problem with my uncles pro drive last year. Post some vids and a review of that beast. I love that boat
