Anyone ever ran a 35 surface drive on a 1648 war eagle? Getting a 35 stage one mudbuddy 35 on a tall transom ware eagle and wanting some feedback on what to expect.

I don't know I've never ran one. But you will defiantly have to get your drive angle right. I've heard allot of people having problems getting on step . Measure your transom and seemingly a tall transom works best on about 19"-20". I would think it would work fine with all things lined out properly. I'm guess the ribbed hull won't do good in mud. But if you don't run allot of mud go for it man. Good luck

Yeah man, I run just shallow water and vegetation.

You will struggle with a load. I used to run a 1650 express mod-v, so it was a pretty similar boat, and it sucked with a load. The planing surface on a 16 foot mod-v is very small.

I currently run a 1754 War Eagle with a Black Death 4500. The rig handles very well and performs great. I live in southeast Michigan, so I can't speak on behalf of performance in mud. The conditions I mainly run have high amounts of vegitation with water depths typically ranging from 5 feet to 6 inches. The rig jumps right up on plane and handles a load very well! I have ridden in rigs consisting of typical "mud hulls" and I have no intentions on purchasing a different hull. I am more than pleased with the overall performance!!!! Hope this helps.

I think most people do better w/ a 32" outdrive on WE.

i have a 17 48 war eagle bought the boat with a 31 mb ran 25 26 with me and another person and ice chest with drinks... building a 35 stage 2 at the moment will be put back together as soon as setx sends my heads back... my boat does good for a 31 and im no little boy i wish it was 4 inches wider to give a little more "float".. but i also have a short transom with a 36" outdrive.. that boat should have no problem doing 30 with a stage one... let u know this weekend how fast she is "hopefully"

i have the 648 ldv with gtr 35. good boat, decent speed, hard to handle because the semi-v tends to catch, yet when you get it she'll move. so far love my setup

Currently have a 1848 war eagle and had multiple lts before stepping up to a 35 gtr last year. Its a great set up and only been stuck a few times when anything would have been stuck...sand.

35 gtr stock:
WOT - 4800 rpms, 27 mph (no load)
WOT - 4600-4700 rpms, 25 mph (2 people, hunting load)
WOT - 4400, 23 mph (4 people, loaded to the max)

Just completed a stg 1 from Calen so I will run it this weekend and see how it perfoms after that...hehe.

Haha, wasnt even thinking earlier...now that i have eatin some food, change all numbers above from 4xxx to 3xxx.

Got my Stg 1 back from Calen and ran it yesterday.

WOT - 3900-4000 rpms at best trim setting yielded 30 mph. (deep water)

I will keep tweaking it but im very happy with the work he did. Engine sounds great, its very responsive and the difference in the torque vs stock is amaizing.

what that set u back, if you don't mind me asking. about to turn 80hrs on motor thinkn of beefing it up

I got a war eagle with a stage one does 35 with just me and 31 32 with3 guys dog decoya blind everything to hunt u will tear any boat up if u dont drive it right... but my boat does very well better than most when u can pass another boat with 3 guys dog and hunting load to and the other is riding solo i believe your doing something right
