Post New engine for LT
I just ordered a new Maxtool 16 hp engine for a longtail after ruining the honda gx390 that was on it. The honda died due to overreving because the governor was bypassed, due to this I am reluctent to remove the one on the new engine. What do you guys think, should I? Is there any real benefit from the extra rpms? Also any other things I should do with it before I dump oil in it and bolt it on? Tried to search for some of this on here but couldnt really get a clear answer in the results other than people throwing around gokart references.

fair motor especially for the price, we have built two longtails using it, issue we would run into with it is the threads on the housing and braces are easily stripped out, motor ran good overall tho

our last build we used a carroll stream motor which is also a honda copy, the fit and finish of the motor was a lot closer to an actual honda tho, made from better quality materials

Thanks will have to keep an eye put for that.

What do you guys think? Is there any real gain from removing the governor? Is it worth the risk? Anything else I should do before I dump oil into it?
