Post subject:  Changing case gasket and.....

Well, its that time! Going to be pulling my motor off this weekend to change the leaking case gasket and also change the tower bushings! Anything I need to watch out for during the process? And sprecail tool required? What about gasket sealer, like permatex/form a gasket??

3 prong puller for the clutch
Emory cloth to clean the gasket surface
Lots of rags
Permatex gasket sealant
PTO side oil seal
Loc-tite

Thanks man! I got the gasket kit with the sump gasket, the o rings and crank seal! Gotta get some gasket sealant and loc-tite!

i have to do this and change the Pins on the motor bracket before hunting season

i hear the bushings can be a PITA

Emory cloth is the shit, gives a nice profile and scratch for your gasket sealant to bond to.

Be careful when removing, take it slow as to not mess up the oil seal around the shaft, make sure you emory cloth the shaft and lube it up before removing the case, will help tremendously in saving that oil/shaft seal
