I feel like an idiot. I just got my new engine today got everything ready no problems except; I cannot get the protective nut at the end of the drive shaft off? Any advice? I know already, I feel dumb enough asking. It seems to be on there pretty tight and the shaft wont lock in to get any torque. I'm sure its something simple I'm missing. |

Are you referring to just a motor? Or a whole package ie, engine, frame, prop etc? |

Just a motor, it's the larger duramax from maxtool if that helps. I can't connect to the u joint until I get this bolt off. |

I'll try to take some pictures when I get home but I'll try to explain it again until the . The part that inserts into the u joint on the longtail (shaft that comes out of the engine that spins)has a bolt and washer that goes into it to protect the threading while shipping. |

That's what I was thinking but it's not coming off maybe it was torqued on too tIght? How do I get the shaft to lock up or get a grip on it? Channel locks aren't doing it. |

Impact wrench would have done it but brute force a pipe wrench and channel locks just pulled through. Thanks! |

If you dont have an impact wrench put a piece of wood under the prop and use a breaker bar....It will come off then...seen myself do it! |
