 New steering install problems?
I just installed my steering this past weekend and when i trim up the piece of teflon under the steering arm digs itself under the ball joint on the steering linkage. It looks like it may be close to running trim but i wont be able to tell until i get it in the water but even if it is the steering is going to rub on that piece of teflon all of the time. The kit is a seems pretty simple it doesnt look like there is any adjustment on the part of it. Does anyone have or had this problem.

Looks to me as if you need to flip that assembly over. flip the nuckle over that the steering arm attaches too and reassemble. (The part that looks like a trailer hitch, flip it over and reconnect steering arm) I can't remember what its called

Friend of mine was the same way, only touched when the motor was trimmed all the way up

 Re: New steering install problems?
If i flip the ball joint the steering linkage will be to short (in my opinion its already short) and the trim unit will hit the joint pretty hard. That would be the only possibility everything else pretty much is what it is, no adjustment I know they don't make a steering motor the only difference is the steering arm which holds the hydraulic trim rod and the hollow steering ram tube. That's what I don't understand. I just sent the pics to Gator-Tail I'll see what they come back with.
