Post subject:  12 hp to a 14 hp ?

I have a 12 hp copperhead runs great ... I was just wondering in the future can I put a 14 hp vangaurd b-s on this frame ... What issues might I be facing by Doug this ... What shaft size do I look for .. can this frame take the extra wt. And torc..... Will it bolt right up.... A lot of question.. just thinkin

whats wrong with the 12? Your not going to see any speed gains with 2hp increase. To figure out if the potential motor you want to use will bolt up research the output shaft size of your current motor and the potential replacement motor (google..) then research the shaft height (google....) I would say the extra "torque" from 2hp isnt even going to be enough to feel a difference between the two, and while your researching shaft sizes and heights, research the weight of the motor (google...). If it were my motor I wouldnt waste the $$ for 2hp increase. If you want more speed and power, sell it and buy something towards the max HP your rig will handle.

or call copperhead and ask them what the frame can take and other options.

Dont waste your time, youll have it in the classifieds in a week. The only advantage is reduced vibration because its a v-twin.
