I have a 27 hp go devil surface drive.

1. Do they make a transom saver that you can use to fit this motor? If so can you send me a link to where to get it.

2. I have a low transom boat and need to raise my mud motor up about 2 inches. Can you run a mud motor on a jack plate?

Thanks

Transom saver for a gd is a piece of rope.

I would not use a jack plate. Build the transom up.

No, that's price for Deluxe model with loop. Without loop it's only $64.95.

The only reason Camo can cut such a deal is he has that B.S. made of cheap materials in China.

My next Transom Saver will definetly come from someone else.

All of mine are made in America (Buy American Act Compliant for sale to government entities) and come with my unmatched warranty: 3 feet and 30 seconds, whichever comes first!

I am new to mud motors but was able to use a regular transom saver on my 27hp GDSD. I just turned V shaped rubber down and strap it like a regular outboard. I also tie it off by the handle as described. But, the transom saver does take alot of weight off the transom trailering.

Post subject:  Re: 2 questions

I made mine out of a piece of 1" square tubing about 24" in length 1 piece of 1 1/2" angle iron about 6" in length and a piece of 1" flat bar about 18" long and made a u-shape out of it welded all together put a bungy on both ends of it and a high performance paint job works like a champ!!! I have tens of dollars tied up in it!!

It's a balanced motor... Just tie the handle and let it flop around.

Ahh, I see. I may look into making something similary for mine, but I can't remember right now where the frame of my trailer ends, relative the the back of the boat. Does yours hold your motor all the way up or all the way down?

Author:  kevinpoisso [ Thu Aug 16, 2012 11:06 am ]
Post subject:  Re: 2 questions

almost all the way up... I got to thinking about it the measurements in my original post were wrong I was guesstimating but you can kind of look at the picture and pull measurements for your self.

I gotcha. Well thanks for the idea; I may see about making something similar.
