Blahhh i know this has been brought up but search is yielding nothing. Pretty sure its just an adjusment but after turning the key to off the engine will idle for about 5 seconds before dieing. Carb adjustment? (Stock carb) |

Every once in a while, mine does the same thing. It did it to me Saturday night, and it was throwing flames from the exhaust. Clearly it was sending unburned fuel into the exhaust, but how do I stop that? |

Letting them idle a bit before shutting down will help some |

water in a hot chamber goes snap - krackle - pop goes the carbon. yamaha ring free is a very good additive to use. a little safer than water or atf. |

Honestly, how well does that Yamalube ring free actually work? |

How often do you run/use? Is this something you add with each fill-up or is it better used on a scheduled basis? |

i use an old spray bottle and just mist it into the carb. |

Post subject: | Re: 35 briggs, to much fuel? |
Just take the filter off the top and spray a mist or two directly down in it? |

i just kinda keep it running like shit for about 10-15 seconds, then let it catch back up and idle for about 10-15 seconds and then repeat 2-3 more times. When i am done i let it idle for 10 or so minutes. I've never actually taking the head off after i did that to see how well it works. Sometimes it helps it idle smother other times it doesn't. |

I gotcha; I may try that tomorrow afternoon. My neighbors already look outside at me every I have it cranked up in the street. They'll really be wondering what the hell is up with me when I'm out there spraying water in the top of the motor... Oh well, I just hope I'm not gonna kill anything in it! Somebody stop me if I'm about to do something stupid! ![]() |

Guys in the diesel world spray water/ meth in the intake to Cool boost temps, but it also cleans the intake tract and valve train aswell! Basically they spray windshield washer fluid. |
