Help on suggested transom height for MB 35
Im trying to get all my facts in order to build a new boat. I talked to MB today about making my short transom MB a long transom motor so I can put on a long transom boat. 600 covers the parts.
I happend to ask what height they recommended and tech (micah) said 19" is optimum height for long transom. That seems low since all my long transom boats have been 21" or so.
Since i'll be able to pick my exact transom height, does anyone have an opinion good or bad with transom height? i would assume a lower transom might help in mud but don't know. We don't have mud. setting this boat up to run in shallow green timber with hard bottom. Thanks Lectric Duck in AR

my boat's transom is slightly on the tall side and it cavitates at high speed (30+ mph). I run a GDSD. I would take MB's word for it, if they say 19 is the best height, then guess what, 19 is probably the best height.

Re: Help on suggested transom height for MB 35
Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure since I've never had a long transom that short.
I have an email into MB but just to make sure, but do you guys know if the 19" is a dead rise at a right angle from bottom of boat or is that 19" measured on the actual transom which would follow the transom angle?
