Just looking for opinions,

I have a MB 45 Mag with 250 hours- motor still runs strong and runs my GT Rogue b/t 32-35mph @ 4400-4600RPM empty (depending on prop and water depth) and hauls a load very well too.

My question is this; I basically traded things around and ended up with a set of IM Heads & dual Mikuni carbs for practically no costs. I plan to add these parts to my 45 mag (which would make it a MB 7000) and swap the pulleys/gears around so that with the added HP Im still only running 4400-4600 RPMS.

I would think compression is going to raise by about 10%, so I'll frequently check on crank cover bolts.
As a result, if I keep the RPMS the same, do you think I'm looking at a reliability problem by adding these mods?

Your thoughts or experience??

Yes, you're looking at a reliability issue.

If its already running as good as you say, I'd leave it alone.

Let me throw this out there, I've heard so many people talk about how great the 5500 MAG is, but Im pretty sure the 5500Mag & the 7000 have the same compression of 195-220, right??

I have alot of experience...as do several others here.

Several of us have run every setup imaginable.

Just ask..

Just sell the dual carb setup, and buy a single. Someone will buy it.
