Post "Safe" RPMs
Gentlemen,
I have GTR35 that has single mikuni, IM head, MM exhaust and Hoyt's cam in it. My questions is what is a safe RPM level for the motor to be set at for WOT in the water? I have been trying to limit it to around 4100, but there is no reasoning behind that other than that was about what the stock motor was turning.

Thanks,
Ryan

I got a limiter on mine but I rarely let my engine go over 4800 RPM's.

Unless your racing it is just unnecessary.

If you're still running stock Briggs rods, I'd try to stay under 4500. Others might argue & say they're good for more, but I'm gonna stay below anyhow.

Thanks! I do still have stock rods so for the time being I think I will try and stick under 4500. Of course it has been at least a year since I did any upgrades, maybe it's time for some roller rockers and rods :D

I was referring to piston rods, not push rods

Thanks for the clarification! Either way it may be time to buy some new toys!
