 "Safe" RPMs
Gentlemen, I have GTR35 that has single mikuni, IM head, MM exhaust and Hoyt's cam in it. My questions is what is a safe RPM level for the motor to be set at for WOT in the water? I have been trying to limit it to around 4100, but there is no reasoning behind that other than that was about what the stock motor was turning.
Thanks, Ryan

 Re: "Safe" RPMs
I got a limiter on mine but I rarely let my engine go over 4800 RPM's.
Unless your racing it is just unnecessary.

 Re: "Safe" RPMs
If you're still running stock Briggs rods, I'd try to stay under 4500. Others might argue & say they're good for more, but I'm gonna stay below anyhow.

 Re: "Safe" RPMs
Thanks! I do still have stock rods so for the time being I think I will try and stick under 4500. Of course it has been at least a year since I did any upgrades, maybe it's time for some roller rockers and rods

 Re: "Safe" RPMs
I was referring to piston rods, not push rods

 Re: "Safe" RPMs
Thanks for the clarification! Either way it may be time to buy some new toys!
