Does a few extra hp really make a difference?
I have a 9hp GDLT and kart performance parts are dirt cheap (like exhaust, air filter, jet kit all for under $100). My question is, if I manage to add 3 or 4 hp to this motor is it going to be noticeable at all? I have a brand new prop and everything else is in good shape, just wouldn't mind a little extra grunt. Please let me know how adding a few hp helped/hurted your motors.. Thanks guys.

I think at 9hp 1 extra hp would help. So if you can squeeze out 3-4 that would be noticeable. If you cannot notice the increase your motor sure would work marginally less pushing the same load you did with a 9hp. Especially if you come in around $100.
My two cents.

Adding 30- 40% more hp will be noticeable. Don't matter if it's a 9hp motor r a 100hp motor.
