Hey fellas i just got a new 12 hp with remote fuel and was wondering can i run a line from the fuel filter straight to the tank or do i need a primer bubble still also?..i was gonna just crimp my line on the filter and run straight to to tank but dont know if that will work properly..thanks in advance |

Good point..im no mud motor guru as this is my first.. thanks for the info...tryin to get it goin..havin my transom cut to 16" and should be finished tommorrow and ready to run...ive only read good reveiws and heard of great customer service from copperhead so thats what i went with... i have a 16/42 weldbilt its goin on..thanks again |

I got a 12 copperhead.. tank on top .. it'll go about 6 to 7 miles on that .. its on a 16/48 ... 18 mph all day .. trim perfect 20 mph |

I had remote fuel put on before they sent it to me...didnt want the small tank but glad to hear such good speeds..ill run it first time today or tommorrow |

Yes, you want the primer bulb, but you will only want to use it once when you first connect it to the gas tank. Do not keep pumping it like an outboard trying to get the primer bulb hard or you will end up with gas coming out of the carbs. I initially made the mistake of using some heavy duty fuel line for a 115 outboard built-in fuel tank that was too large for the connection and did not seal properly which ends up starving the engine for gas. If you just use a regular Mercury (or other oem line) and pull off the connector on one end, it works fine. Although it is doable, I personally think you are pushing the limit with a 12 on a 1642. That would probably be a perfect boat for the 18. Hope it works well for you though. |

16/42 weldbilt with 2 guys 2 batteries a gun box and 6 gallon fuel ran 17 steady and hit 18 a couple times...needs a lil fine tuning more and i think itll hit 20..ran through some bad thick stuff and never checked up...awesome motors and very well built.... it surprised the crap outta me |
