Hello all, I am new to this forum and am having trouble with the trim on a GT. The trim has always worked well with no problems, but my father let the boat sit up over the summer and now the trim doesnt work at all. Neither up or down works. I tried cranking motor, but that didnt work either. I definitely am no marine mechanic, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Is there any noise coming from the motor on the unit. May be fluid.

Thank yall for all the info. I had already tried to charge the battery. No, there isnt any noise at all when I try the trim. There is no bad wiring that I can find. I am guessing that it is a bad fuse or relay.

To my understanding the switches in the tiller control box can handle to full amp load, doing away with relays.

Is your battery charged? Just because you "tried" to charge it dosen't mean it is charged. Get a MultiMeter and test it.

Ok - try cranking the engine with the charger connected and set to
the high amp setting like 20 or 50 amp....

It should click - grind - or something then....

Sittin up a boat battery on an aluminum boat will drain down to nada....

And once it sits there discharged for any length of time, just go ahead and buy a new one because that one is ruined and will never hold a charge correctly again.
