Is that ''do what" to the gears? cuz thats what i was thinking when the guy told me it had gears in it. im kinda new at this whole surface drive deal |

Yeah u may have to explain that a bit better. They have a gear off the motor and a gear on the lower prop shaft that the belt goes around. The cam shaft is inside the motor. |

ha i no the cam is in side the motor! but this guys boat im looking at he told me that it had low end gears. i just never have heard of that. |

Well with the Mudbuddy u can change gears to your liking, If u want low end, top end or what not. Not hard to do |

Ok, if it has a performance cam (not cams, only one in there), that is potentially a good thing. The gearing should be set to get the most performance possible with a particular load. If he's telling you it's geared low, I'm assuming he was carrying a big load with it or something. The bad news is that with a light load you want get any speed out of it, but as mentioned above, it's fairly east to swap the gears if needed. |
