While the motor is running i pull the left spark boot off and nothing happens, then replace and pull the right one and motor dies. does that mean left boot doesnt spark? Having back fire issues because of salt water. |

I went through that process during last season. I guess i could wash the motor and re wrap the boots in tape. |

Could possibly be bad diodes or shorting out wire. Pull the top cover from the cooling off (part key switch mounts on) & check the 2 wires zip tied to the intake for shorting or grounding. The dark wire is the one with diodes & it connects to the coils. If you unhook it from both coils & motor runs right, diodes are bad. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KILL MOTOR WITH DIODES UNPLUGGED!!! |
