My GDSD just recently started making a knocking noise sounds like its in the the lower gearcase or shaft...the prop has no play in it..It comes and goes..out of no where it will go away sometimes for the rest of the morning..then the sounds comes back eventually. This a major problem? Thanks |

Take the plates off the belt housing and see if there is any play. In all reality the simplicity of the GD should have no weak links in it so it should never break... Lol |

After reading about another owners issue. I suggest taking of the plate and making sure the u-joint or whatever is in there is okay & no play is in it. Make sure the grease is where it needs to be etc. Hopefully Robn & Giga will throw in some input they are good on advice on maintenance or what to look for. |
