So what's the deal with the big weight difference, pro drive weighs a fair amount more. Is the gear drive the big differnce? Thanks |

Yeah, it is about 40 lbs heavier if I remember correctly. It is because it has more bulky mounting brackets, gearcases and shafts. vs a square tubing belt housing and a rubber band. It's not enough weight to loose any sleep over. |

I like the pro drive but at 330 pounds for a 36 hp that seems pretty heavy. |

I went from a 23 gdsd to a 36 prodrive and there was no noticeable change in the way my boat drafted, boat is a 17x48. I wouldn't worry about it |

Apparently Giga is suggesting that the GDSD weighs in around 430 lbs. Since u went from a GD to a prodrive. |

No he's saying either you didn't notice the 100 lb addition or you lost 100 lbs of your body weight between motors. |
