Try removing one spark plug at a time to see which side is the
good side - you may have a dead cylinder - ie ignition or valve

It will die when you remove the good side plug wire

I say bent or broken pushrods, open valve covers to check.

Unless if the clicking you hear is a plugwire arching on the side of the engine.....crank it up and pee on each side of it,the side that cuts you for a flip is the bad side.

hey curltail,if it happens to you, dont worry....i heard today that:

Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer.

It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of:
MOUNT & DO.

Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research.

This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

If this is the engine that's at my shop yes I pulled a spark plug and called a broke connecting rod! YES it is broken its not just a rattle or noise, it is knocking very bad and about to come apart. The spark plug wasn't simply "bent" it was destroyed and I barley got it out I the head. And I would like to think I may know what a broken connecting rod sounds like when I hear one. Not everyone needs to disassembled to tell if a rod is broken!

Well this is true.on a engine not running but when a engine is turning 4000 RPMS alot of times if the rod breaks and gets high enough out of the way of the crank to where it doesn't come thru the side it usually mets the valves which usually break when they hit each other It's funny how alot of you are saying what can happen, what can't happen, how to trouble shoot, what's not broken what is broken and. Not one of you have seen or heard this thing run. Tell you what I have a deal for you 50hp or anyone else who wants to take it IF the rod on the #2 cylinder is NOT broken I will replace the engine or repair it for free! If the rod IS broken you pay for a replacement engine. Do I have any takers?? really funny how some one can say rattle or tapping. And all of you know what it is or isn't!!

As I was writing the customer information down I looked at the motor for about 2 minutes all I DO know is it has a broken rod. Yeah of coarse there is more damage but I will not know the extent of damage untill I take it apart.

If Calen told me my engine wasn't running right cause there was a Keebler elf stuck in the crankcase, I'd tell him to fix it and send me the bill.
