35 GTR CDI - Battery issues
Yeah, yeah, don't laugh serious question. I just upgraded my ride from a MB to a 35 GTR CDI and I'm having issues getting the motor to crank. I was able use a deep cycle with the 4000 MB no issues however seems the new CDI requires a little more kick to get her to crank. I've replaced the old battery with a new Interstate Marine cranking battery and I'm still having issues after the intial start. Before I move the battery from from the front back to the transom I'm curious if others have run into a similar is when they switched over to the new CDI ?

 Re: 35 GTR CDI
Make sure you have a good ground, motors take the same amount of cranking amps with it be CDI or non CDI. There is a connection problem some where

Like Take'emgator said. I use a lawn mower battery to start mine.

Is it a new GTR? If not, cut both ends of the battery terminals and put new connections on.
Mine acted the same way and it was a bad wire connection.

Re: 35 GTR CDI - Battery issues
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll take a look at the ground back at the motor. I know the dealer was pulled the lead off then changed his mind and put it back on. With all the paint that is put on at the factory good chance that might be it. I'll post the results when I have time to check it out.
bbb - yup, it's brand new however the connections at the battery are original/old and are up under the front deck. I'll try that if the ground checks out.
thanks
