So the case gasket has gone far enough that I'm not gonna run it any more until I replace it. So here is the delema..... I have a EVT cam I was running, but put the stock one back in suspecting the EVT one was bad. Well, it wasn't. Ended up being a carb adjustment. Since I'm gonna have the motor pulled apart, should I put the evt cam back in knowing they have had some problems with some of them? What would be the next step in gaining a little more without breaking the bank? Roller rockers, push rods, valves? One of the evt studs broke, so I'm hesitant to go back with em. Suggestions? |

Pistons and rod are mostly for strength. You won't see any real gains unless you go over size. Roller rockers may be what are causeing the problems with some of the cam's. The added ratio may be the problem. The extra grand you will spend on rods pistons and rollers may get you 2 mph .If you are running a light boat and you willing to turn 5000+ rpm. You may see more. my buddy runs a evt cam stock internals and stage one and get 32 with a 16x60 gd and gdsd. He get 30 with a two man fishing load. JD |
