What's your opinion it's about a 600$ difference.

Re: 35hp mud buddy CDI VS NON CDI
If you have many power accessories and do a good bit of idling and scouting you'll want the CDI for the better charging system. If you just run and ride and want to build the motor for more power go with the non-cdi since the timing is not retarded on the low end.

If I went with a non cdi would it just draw from battery but not recharge it.

It charges also just not very much and at higher rpms. If you use it frequently and don't have a bunch of lights or stuff on the same battery you'll be fine. May need to top it off every now and then if you do a bunch of idling around or low rpm speeds. I think the non is 0-20 amp and the other is 20-50amp depending on rpm.

Also the CDI has rev limiters built into the coils. The Non does not so if you delete the governor you'll have an endless rpm range for future builds.

I don't even install the shitty 0/20 stator. Just plug the boat in when i get near an outlet. Don't waste the hp on that junk!

I believe I want the non cdi because I do alittle bit of fishing with it but all of my electronics are on a separate battery. You don't lose any performance not having the cdi right?

Re: 35hp mud buddy CDI VS NON CDI
If anything, you'd lose power with the cdi motor. The charging system uses power from the motor.
You might gain a little back with the lighter flywheel and timing advance, but it is def harder to turn a cdi motor over by hand than it is to turn a non-cdi..
