 16hp Briggs V-Twin
I just had my carb cleaned and was told it was filthy with lots of water. The mechanic cleaned as best as he could but said there was still some uncleanable spots in the bottom. Before it was constantly backfiring and would bog down when put in the water. Out of the water it rolls full throttle in the water nothing. After he cleaned it, it does the same thing minus the backfiring. Any info???

 Re: 16hp Briggs V-Twin
Just buy a new carb. I had a Godevil long tail with a 25 Kohler that I let sit in the off season and I had my mechanic clean and soak it and it never ran right after that, I ended up buying a new carb.

Buy a couple bottles of sea foam and let it sit in that for and hour and it will take it out it worked for me.

 Re: 16hp Briggs V-Twin
i would say try the sea foam first, but if the mechanic couldn't clean it....... might not hurt to go straight to a new carb
