I need to get one. Can anyone tell me which one and where to get it? Also where do you mount them in the boat?
Will I still need one if I switch from the stock carb and hang a Mukunii carb?

Spoke with Silk and he said Napa has a good one that is 1 to 5 PSI. I will take that route.

i just put one on my 16 hp gd lt. it is a facet 2 to 3.5 psi and its plenty big.
you might want and check carb specs cause at 5 psi you might blow by your needle and seat. you can go to the facet/puralator website and find the best fitting pump that way you wont need a pressure regulator. i mounted mine on the opposite side of the starter motor and use the fuel shut off solinoid circuit off the ignition and a SIERRA SWITCH,Oil PRESSURE Md.#OP22900 6psi to kill the fuel pump if the motor stalls or you use the kill switch. works pretty darn good. btw i did have to use a regulator to maintain 2-2 1/2 psi to keep from flooding. and also if you move youre fuel tank in the boat higher or lower youre pressure will change. hope this helps. heres a link to the facet puralator site http://www.facet-purolator.com/index.ph ... Thanks for info. I just installed the posi-flow last night. I havent ran it yet. Think it is 1.5 to 4 PSI. I mounted it on the transom, figured there would be less vibration and it is also its closer to the tank height . where does that sierra switch mount. Sounds like it would be a good idea to have.

What is the regulator you used to maintain the PSI???? Should I get one?

The sierra switch is just a oil pressure switch. tee off where your other oil sender or switch is and hook it in as the ground circuit on your pump. so hot wire to ignition and ground wire to oil pressure switch. when your engine has below 6 psi oil pressure it kills the pump. you will still need a primer bulb with this set up so you can fill the carb on a start up. the pressure regulator i use is a mr gasket. both of these can be found at advance or oriellys. its up to you on the regulator it might run rich and smoke at idle or flood. im no pro really im just a jack leg who found something that works and is simple.

I got the only one the Napa here carried, 7 psi, cost me about 40 bucks. I mounted it on the stern, ran my lines from the bow down the side of the boat, through the pump and up to the motor. Wired it up so it comes on with the ignition, and good to go.

I just added a mr. gasket 2-4lb electric fuel pump that is wired into my key switch. I am probably going to add a swtich to cut it off. It has helped my engine dramatically. I have picked up 150 RPM by just adding the pump, and the engine turns over no problem, and runs and idles much better. I was able to add back my quick connect now that the flow pressure was solved. I only have about 6 hrs on it, but I have been very happy so far. I would not go above the 4-5 psi pump though. This is plenty, and anymore and I think you may run the risk of blowing your needle. Peck recommend a 1-3.5 psi, but the smallest Advanced Auto had was a 2-4. I mounted the Fuel pump in the bow next to the tank, and then ran a line ack to the transom, into a Racor water seperator, into a quick conect, into the motor. No problems.

Solved all the fuel problems I have had for the past 3 years. Wish I did it along time ago.

Got kinda hairy reaching down and pumping that ball at night to fuel a starved motor, while running WOT in the skinny stuff. No Good!

I just put a 2-3.5 mr gasket pump on mine and It is floodin the motor bad are these pumps not suppose to shut off when the pressure reaches the 2-3.5 psi i figured they would guess i need to find a pressure regulator

I'm running the Mr. Gasket myself, just make sure you use it as a push pump or your gonna kill it. Mine has been working great to this point.....

Do you keep the stock mechanical after you install the electric or is everyone installing a block of plate and running the electric alone.

I've been running both without problems to this point.......Hated the backfires/surg'n at fullthrottle......

some pumps are made to push fuel rather than pulling, so you have to mount it closer to the fuel tank.

Most of these small electric pumps are "push pumps"... The need to be mounting within a foot or so of the tank. It would be nice to get it as level with the bottom of the tank as possible since these pumps are very sensitive to NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head), but that is not easily done in a boat since you have the chance of drowning the pump. So mount it as close to the tank as possible and as low as you can go to not drown it if you get water in your boat. I will be mounting one about a foot off the floor of my airboat in a tab that I plan to weld to the engine stand.

Right now I am debating on pulling the mechanical and running the electric alone. Also debating on pulling the flywheel fan and cooling fins since it is on an airboat and getting every bit of HP I can.
