Post oil working out of the breather
I have been getting some oil out of the breather. It was collecting in the carb and causing a fouling problem. I put a little breathe on the valve cover it would drip oil all over the motor.I tried a pcv valve and a breather and stuffed the breather with filter material still having problems.

Motors got about 10 hours since the rebuild, it started when I went to 20 over pistons. I may need to re-torque the heads. I can feel a little air out of the breather tube.

any ideas

JD

What you have is high crankcase preasure. This can be caused by two things.

1. to much oil in the engine.
2. your piston rings are not seating.

When you went with 20over pistons did you check your ring gap before
install? Did you stager your rings when you installed them?

Make sure your oil drain on top of you head with breather isnt plugged up.

isn't the breather assembly nothing more than a check valve? so if you have oil / air coming out it's installed properly!

x2 on what Beauford Joseph Guidry said ;)

Also, i have seen a blown head gasket cause excess oil / smoke to come out of the breather. the gasket was busted on the inside around the head bolt that is in the middle of the push rod tubes.

Actually check down by your push rods. Make sure those holes are clear.
What head gaskets did you use when you put the engine together?

Installed a breather port for each head still getting oil coming out. It must be a blown head gasket. I find out after teal once I can tear her down.

Pulled her down, both head gaskets were leaking into the block by pushrod channel. That was the high $ copper and silacone performance. Installing studs and haveing heads machined for a stainless o ring like a outboard.
I hope that all it is . The cyl look good so do the piston float or end play.

That sounds like a good thing to try JD. Let us know how it works.
