 mini mud motor
Let me ask you fellas something. I am going to make a little boat like a sneak/hide/skull ect. boat. I have been looking at home made mini mud motors and come across one. Most are direct drive but his one in particular had the engine turned around backwards. The drive shaft out of the block had a pulley wheel and a belt which went down to a much larger pulley wheel. The larger pulley was attached to the shaft that goes down to the prop. The engine was 6 horse. Would yall reckon that makes a huge difference in the output at the prop? Would yall in the know have any insight on htis?

 Re: mini mud motor
It was a scavenger. How much difference at the prop you reckon the pullies make?

 Re: mini mud motor
not totally sure but it just depends on the ratio.. 1.5:1 the prop would be spinnin slower than the motor. every 1.5 revolution of the motor/ 1 rev of prop (my understanding anyway)
